This tutorial is for Shellac black stud nail art.  When I see nail art I immediately think about how I can translate it to Shellac nail art.  I’ve seen lots of stud designs lately so I decided to give it a try.

This is a pretty fashion forward look, I’d recommend using this as an accent nail. 

  1. First prep the nail, base coat, and cure for 10 seconds. 
  2. Put down a coat of  black pool, cure for two minutes. 
  3. Do a second coat of black pool, cure for two minutes. 
  4. Now put on your top coat but DO NOT cure it yet. 
  5. Use an orangewood stick with a tiny bit of top coat on the tip to pick up studs and arrange them exactly how you want.  I got these little studs from Sally Beauty Supply, I’ve seen them at many nail art stores. 
  6. Now that you have the studs how you want them you can cure the top coat for two minutes. 
  7. Add another layer of top coat, just to make sure they don’t go anywhere, and cure for two minutes.  It can be tricky to wipe of the inhibition layer because cotton sticks to the studs, a paper towel might be easier. 
  8. Finish with solar oil and that’s it!
